What this site holds about you, who can see it, and how to make it stop. Written against what the system actually does.
Last reviewed 23 August 2026 · Industrial Psychology Consultants (Pvt) Ltd
The short version
- Your name, your telephone number and your email address are shown to an employer only when you apply for one of their adverts or accept their approach.
- You can delete everything, and delete means deleted, not hidden.
- We never sell your details to anybody, and we never ask you to pay for anything.
- We do not track you around the internet. There is no advertising network on this site and no analytics that follows you elsewhere.
What we hold, and why
If you register as a job seeker we hold what you give us: your name, email address, telephone number, the province and town you are in, your work history, your education, your skills, your highest qualification, your years of experience, and what you are looking for. If you upload a CV we also keep the text of it, because that is what your profile is read from and what lets you produce a clean copy later.
If you register as an employer we hold your organisation's registered name and number, its website and physical address, its telephone number, the work email address of the person registering, and the document you upload to prove the organisation exists. We hold that because a job seeker on this site is handing over their name and their number, and they are entitled to know that the person on the other side is a real organisation.
We also keep a record of what you do here, the adverts you open, the roles you apply for, the approaches you accept, because that is what the site is for and because you can see it yourself on your own dashboard.
What an employer can see
In Hire Me Now, an employer searching for people sees your job family, your province and town, your skills, your years of experience and a short summary. They do not see your name, your email address or your telephone number. Those are not sent to their browser at all, so there is nothing for them to inspect.
An employer sees your contact details in two situations, both of which you control. If you apply for one of their adverts, you have chosen to approach them, and they see your name, your contact details and your full record, CV included, from that moment. If they make a protected approach to you and you accept it, you have chosen to answer. If you do nothing, they learn nothing.
If you tell us the employers you do not want to work for, adverts from those employers are kept away from you and you are kept out of their results.
Who else sees it
Nobody outside Industrial Psychology Consultants, with one exception: the messages this site sends you, a verification code, a reminder, an approach, are delivered through Microsoft, whose mail service carries them. Microsoft therefore handles your email address and the content of that message, as any mail provider does.
We do not send your CV, your profile or your contact details to any company other than an employer you have applied to or whose approach you accepted, to any advertising network, or any artificial intelligence service. Your CV is read on this server by software we wrote, and it does not leave it.
Some of the vacancies on this site were collected from other Zimbabwean job boards that publish them openly. That is information travelling towards you, not information about you travelling anywhere.
How long we keep it
While you are looking for work, we check in with you about every thirty days and ask whether anything has changed. If we have not heard from you for six months we warn you that your profile is about to be taken out of sight. At seven months it is taken out of Hire Me Now, so no employer finds you. It is not deleted, and one click puts you back.
If you delete your profile, we delete your record, your applications and every employer approach attached to you, immediately and for good. We cannot recover it afterwards and neither can you.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, named ipc_sid. It holds nothing but a random identifier that tells the server which session is yours, so that you stay signed in as you move between pages. It cannot be read by scripts, it is not sent to other sites, and it carries no information about you. We use no advertising cookies and no third party analytics.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:12] you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to how it is used. Most of that you can do yourself, in seconds, from your own profile page: everything we hold is shown there, every field can be edited, and there is a button that deletes the lot.
If you would rather ask us, or if you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, write to ipc@ipcconsultants.com. You also have the right to complain to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, which oversees data protection in this country.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored scrambled with a one-way function, so nobody here can read yours, including us. Sessions are held on the server rather than in your browser. Where the site is served over a secure connection, the session cookie is marked so that it can only travel over one.
No system is perfect, and we would rather say so than pretend. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you and we will tell the regulator.
This policy describes the system as it is built today. A qualified legal practitioner should review it before this platform opens to the public, and the contact addresses above must be ones that somebody actually reads.
