Head of Project Management Department

Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Project Management Department to provide technical and operational leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of multiple large-scale construction projects, while driving profitability, quality, safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and executive leadership to the Project Management Department, ensuring alignment with the company's strategy.
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple large-scale construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation across all projects.
• Drive financial performance, cost control and profitability, including procurement, contract management, tendering and risk mitigation.
• Build, lead and mentor a high-performing team of Project Managers and site professionals, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Champion quality, safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to HSE standards, QA/QC systems, CDM regulations and all statutory requirements.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex project issues and build strong relationships with clients, partners and government authorities.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is mandatory.
• 6 - 10 years of relevant experience in construction project management, with proven leadership experience.
• Extensive experience in project planning, programme control, cost management, contract administration and risk management.
• Demonstrated success in overseeing multiple large-scale, complex construction projects.
• Registration with a relevant professional engineering body (e.g. ZIE) is an advantage or may be required.
• A relevant postgraduate or management qualification will be an added advantage.
