Role Overview
Spearhead the development of public relations, advocacy and international affairs policies and strategies for the Ministry and make recommendations to the Secretary;Manage the drafting of various statutory instruments and general notices, referral of the instruments of law officers and publication in the Government gazette;Co-ordinate meetings for the Defence bilateral Joint Permanent Commissions, SADC Inter State Defence and Security Commissions meetings and the drafting of position papers for the same;Oversee the process of writing speeches for the Secretary for Defence, the Honourable Minister of Defence and His Excellence the President on defence related matters;Prepare responses to questions raised in Parliament pertaining to the Ministry of Defence; Manage the assessment of geo-political and military issues and provide advice to the Secretary and Honourable Minster;Superintend over preparations for the Defence Forces Day Celebrations and ZDF exhibitions at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Harare Agricultural Show and other functions; Monitor and analyze current events, public information to influence press opinion with a view to mitigate risk, improve the Ministry's image, public opinion and determine appropriate strategic responses; Oversee development of budgets and funding strategies for the department; Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates; e

- A degree in Politics and Administration, International Relations, Public Relations, Media and Mass Communication Studies
- A relevant Masters Degree *years experience, 2years being a Deputy DIrector LEVEL
