Software Engineer

• Zimswitch Technologies is seeking a skilled and security-conscious Software Engineer to join its development team in Harare.
• The successful candidate will design, build and maintain robust and secure software solutions within an Agile delivery environment.
• The role requires adherence to secure coding practices, including PCI DSS , as well as the organisation's information security standards, including ISO 27001 .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Relevant secure software development certification, such as Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), GIAC Secure Software Programmer, or equivalent.
• Cloud security certification, including relevant AWS or Azure security certifications.
• Agile/Scrum certification such as CSM or PSM.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks, particularly Java, PHP and JavaScript .
• Familiarity with the ISO 27001 framework and its application to software development. Formal certification is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of secure coding principles, PCI DSS and the OWASP Top 10.
• Practical Agile/Scrum experience.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with SAST/DAST tools such as SonarQube and OWASP ZAP.
• Understanding of API security and authentication/authorization protocols, including OAuth2 and JWT.
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and secure data-handling practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
