{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"JobPosting","title":"SENIOR MANAGER – TECHNICAL","description":"<p>\nKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n• Plan, coordinate, allocate, and supervise maintenance activities and technical projects to ensure efficient operations.\n• Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear and standby power systems.\n• Manage HVAC, precision cooling and air conditioning systems for offices, data centres, vaults and critical facilities.\n• Lead electrical, electronics and HVAC projects, including installations, upgrades and refurbishments.\n• Conduct inspections, technical audits, and condition assessments to ensure equipment safety, compliance, and optimal performance.\n• Develop, implement, and review engineering standards, technical procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.\n• Evaluate emerging technologies\tand\trecommend appropriate equipment, systems, and resource acquisitions.\n• Identify training needs, develop competency frameworks, and ensure staff remain compliant with relevant legislation and industry standards.\n• Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations to Senior Management on maintenance performance, technical issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n• Develop and manage technical services budgets, asset lifecycles and capital projects.\n• Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and other facility management tools to monitor asset performance, maintenance history and lifecycle costs.\n• Resolve operational and technical challenges while promoting the efficient use of resources and ongoing process improvement.\n• Lead, mentor and develop technical teams while driving innovation and continuous improvement.\n• Provide support for mission-critical assignments involving electrical, electronic, and air-conditioning systems, and undertake any related duties as assigned by management from time to time.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE\nThe ideal candidate should have:\n• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics\n• At least five (5) years of post-qualification experience in electrical, electronic, HVAC, building services, or facilities engineering, including a minimum of three (3) years in a managerial capacity.\n• Proven experience in managing electrical distribution systems, backup power systems, HVAC installations, building automation systems, and other critical infrastructure.\n• Demonstrated experience in managing contractors, consultants, and service providers within large and complex organisations.\n• Sound knowledge of electrical safety standards, building regulations, energy management practices, and business continuity requirements.\n• Experience working in high-security and mission-critical environments will be an added advantage.\n\nSKILLS AND COMPETENCES\n• Competence in managing a variety of electrical for plant and equipment and HVAC systems.\n• Knowledge of building automation systems and electronic systems Building\n• Digital and technology proficiency in Security Systems.\n• Project and stakeholder management.\n• Leadership and problem-solving skills.</p>","identifier":{"@type":"PropertyValue","name":"ipcjobs.org","value":"IPCJ-001416"},"datePosted":"2026-09-25","validThrough":"2026-10-09T21:59:59.000Z","employmentType":"CONTRACT","hiringOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"-"},"jobLocation":{"@type":"Place","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressLocality":"Harare","addressRegion":"Harare","addressCountry":"ZW"}},"directApply":true}
